Renee Walter is an Attorney at DZ Law, PLLC. Thoughtful litigation counsel grounded in preparation, organization, and practical advocacy is the through-line of her work.
Renee commenced her legal practice in 2025 following her graduation magna cum laude from Lincoln Memorial University – Duncan School of Law. Prior to law school, she served as a paralegal, cultivating her attention to detail, comfort with drafting and filing documents, and acquiring insight into litigation that she now applies to meet her clients’ needs effectively. Renee’s practice areas encompass Civil Litigation, Construction Litigation, Contract Litigation, and Insurance Disputes.
She helps clients understand what the dispute involves, what the litigation process may require, which documents and facts matter, what practical choices may arise, and what the next step is.
Renee’s work is especially relevant for:
Before becoming an attorney, Renee worked as a litigation paralegal and developed a practical understanding of the work that moves a civil case forward. Her prior litigation-support experience informs the way she prepares cases—including drafting, filings, document organization, discovery, deadlines, case management, and client communication.
Working as a paralegal gave her an early understanding of how litigation develops from filing through resolution. That background continues to shape her attention to procedure, organization, and client communication. It is not a substitute for years of practicing law, and it does not guarantee a particular outcome—but it does explain why preparation and clarity sit at the center of her approach.
Renee assists clients involved in construction-related disagreements, including disputes concerning contracts, performance, payment, project responsibilities, and related issues handled by DZ Law. She works to organize the project record, identify the issues that may influence the matter, and help clients make informed decisions as the dispute develops.
Contract LitigationShe assists clients with disputes involving contractual obligations, interpretation, alleged breaches, business agreements, and related civil claims. Clear documents and a clear theory of the dispute matter; Renee helps clients understand both.
Insurance DisputesRenee assists clients facing disagreements involving policy interpretation, coverage, claim handling, or other insurance-related disputes currently handled by the firm.
Civil & Commercial LitigationRenee represents businesses and individuals in civil disputes requiring organized case development, legal analysis, negotiation, and, where appropriate, litigation. She approaches each matter methodically: understand the facts, identify the issues that may influence the outcome, and help the client decide what comes next.
Renee approaches litigation methodically. She works to understand the relevant facts, identify the issues that may influence the matter, and help clients make informed decisions at each stage. Confidence comes from professionalism and preparation—not from claims of aggression.
Per DZ Law, Renee received CALI awards for excellence and achievement in Management of Electronic Discovery and Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law. Academic recognition, including a CALI award in Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law, reflects coursework excellence. It does not mean Workers’ Compensation is an active practice area for Renee at DZ Law.
