Carter County, TN (September 18, 2025) – A crash on Highway 19E in Carter County left two people injured on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the accident occurred when a 2015 Mini Cooper failed to yield to a 2002 Honda Accord while attempting to turn left from State Route 361 onto Highway 19E. As a result, the Honda collided with the Mini Cooper on the driver's side.

Both vehicles came to a stop in the southbound lanes of the highway following the crash. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported both the driver of the Mini Cooper and the driver of the Honda to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The extent of their injuries remains unknown, and authorities have not released any further information about their conditions.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. No charges have been filed at this time, and THP is working to determine the factors that led to the collision.

Our thoughts are with those injured in this crash, and we hope for their full and speedy recovery.

Two Injured in Car Accident on Hwy 19E

Car accidents are common occurrences, and intersections are often the sites of some of the most serious collisions. The importance of understanding and following traffic laws cannot be overstated, especially when it comes to yielding at intersections.

Accidents like this recent one often happen when drivers are in a hurry or distracted. A simple failure to yield, as in this case, can lead to devastating outcomes. Common causes of car accidents include:

  • Distracted driving: Drivers who are texting, talking on the phone, or distracted by in-car technology may fail to notice stop signs or signals, leading to accidents.
  • Speeding: Drivers who exceed the speed limit or drive too fast for conditions are more likely to cause accidents, especially at intersections.
  • Failure to yield: As seen in this crash, not yielding the right of way can lead to dangerous accidents when one driver isn't prepared to stop or adjust in time.
  • Impaired driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs slows reaction time and impairs judgment, significantly increasing the likelihood of accidents.

In accidents like this one, where the fault lies with one driver, the injured party may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, property damage, lost wages, and pain and suffering. An experienced car accident attorney can help navigate the claims process and ensure victims receive the compensation they deserve.
