Chattanooga, TN (October 13, 2025) – A hit-and-run collision in Chattanooga left three children injured on Sunday, October 12, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.
According to the Chattanooga Police Department, the crash occurred around 1:03 p.m. near Block Street, close to Cleo Avenue. A blue Nissan carrying several passengers was traveling through the area when a black sedan suddenly struck it and fled the scene down a nearby alley.
Emergency responders quickly arrived and provided medical care to three injured children inside the Nissan. All three were transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Officials have not released details on the extent of their injuries, but they confirmed the children were conscious when taken for care.
Police are now searching for the driver of the black sedan, who sped away without rendering aid or reporting the crash. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses to identify the suspect and vehicle involved.
The damaged Nissan was towed from the scene as officers collected evidence and documented the collision. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact the Chattanooga Police Department.
Our thoughts are with the injured children and their families, and we hope for their complete recovery.
Car Accidents in Tennessee
Hit-and-run crashes like this one highlight the devastating impact of reckless and irresponsible driving in Tennessee. These incidents not only cause physical harm but also emotional trauma, especially when young children are involved. Victims and families often face significant medical bills, ongoing therapy, and long-term anxiety following such frightening events.
Under Tennessee law, all drivers involved in accidents resulting in injury or damage are legally required to stop, remain at the scene, and provide assistance. Fleeing the scene is a criminal act that can lead to felony charges and severe penalties. For victims, a skilled personal injury attorney can help ensure that justice is served and that families receive the compensation they deserve.
Victims of car accidents or hit-and-run incidents may be entitled to financial recovery for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost income, emotional distress, and other related damages. When the responsible driver cannot immediately be located, victims can sometimes pursue claims through uninsured motorist coverage or through other available avenues for compensation.
In cases involving children, compensation can also cover long-term care needs, counseling, and future medical treatment. A lawyer can navigate the legal process, investigate the incident, and negotiate with insurance companies to achieve the best possible outcome for the victims and their families.
