Car Accidents in Tennessee

Tennessee regularly sees a high number of vehicle accidents each year, with over 175,000 reported in 2022 alone. Chattanooga, being one of the state's busiest cities, is no stranger to traffic collisions, especially along major roadways like Highway 153. These accidents often result in injuries that range from minor to life-altering.
Several factors contribute to car accidents on Tennessee highways:
- Failure to Yield: Many collisions occur at intersections when drivers fail to yield the right-of-way, resulting in T-bone or rear-end crashes.
- Distracted Driving: Using a phone, eating, or other distractions can divert a driver's attention, leading to preventable accidents.
- Speeding and Reckless Driving: Driving too fast for conditions or weaving through traffic increases the risk of crashes, especially in high-traffic areas.
- Fatigue: Drivers who are drowsy or exhausted may have slower reaction times or fall asleep at the wheel, contributing to accidents on highways.
