Hit-and-Run Accidents in Tennessee

Injuries Reported in Hit-and-Run Crash Near Morris Hill Rd; Police Search for Suspect Vehicle

Hit-and-run crashes in East Tennessee often leave victims struggling with serious injuries and unanswered questions. When a driver flees the scene, victims lose critical time to receive immediate help, worsening the impact of the crash. These types of car accidents can lead to long-term physical, emotional, and financial challenges for those involved.

Common reasons hit-and-run drivers leave the scene include distracted driving, lack of insurance, fear of arrest, or impairment due to drugs or alcohol. Victims of these personal injury cases often face steep medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering while waiting for police to locate the responsible party.

If authorities identify the suspect, victims can pursue compensation for:

  • Medical expenses and ongoing treatment
  • Lost wages and reduced earning capacity
  • Emotional distress and pain and suffering
  • Property damage and vehicle repairs

Tennessee law allows hit-and-run victims to seek damages through a personal injury claim, even if the suspect remains unidentified. In these cases, victims may recover compensation through uninsured motorist coverage on their own policy. However, navigating the process can be complex and requires guidance from a skilled personal injury attorney.

An experienced lawyer can investigate the crash, gather witness statements, secure video evidence, and negotiate with insurance companies to protect the victim's rights. Legal support ensures victims receive full and fair compensation for their injuries.
