Dunlap, TN (December 4, 2025) - A serious two-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon, December 2, injured one driver in Dunlap. The Dunlap Fire Department responded around 4:20 p.m. to a collision on Highway 111 southbound, just above the scenic overlook. Early reports said two trucks crashed and left heavy wreckage in the travel lanes.

Firefighters arrived to find one driver trapped inside a damaged truck. Crews worked fast to stabilize the vehicle and protect the injured driver. They used rescue tools to remove the driver's door and cut away part of the cab roof. That step allowed them to reach the driver safely and pull them out without causing more harm.

Puckett EMS took over medical care once firefighters freed the driver. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene and rushed them to Erlanger Chattanooga for hospital care. Officials described the injuries as serious. They did not release the driver's name or condition. The other truck's driver did not appear to suffer injuries of the same level, though officers have not shared full medical details.

The crash blocked both southbound lanes for a period of time. Emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and debris filled the roadway while crews worked. The Tennessee Highway Patrol led the investigation at the scene. 

Investigators are still piecing together what caused the collision.
