Greene County, TN (September 29, 2025) – Two people suffered injuries on Sunday, September 28, in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 East in Greene County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened just before 5 p.m. when a Dodge Ram 1500 attempted to turn left onto Highway 11 East from Rheatown Road. During the turn, the Dodge struck a Jeep Renegade traveling east on the highway.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Jeep sustained injuries. Emergency responders treated them at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. Their current conditions have not yet been released.
The driver and passenger of the Dodge Ram were not injured in the crash. Troopers confirmed that the Dodge driver has been charged with failure to yield and for not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
Authorities cleared the roadway after the wreck and continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. The investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol remains active.
We hope both injured victims make a full recovery.
Car Accidents in Tennessee
Failure-to-yield crashes are among the most common causes of serious injuries on Tennessee roads. When one driver ignores traffic laws, other motorists often pay the price. Busy intersections pose added risks, as drivers frequently misjudge speed, distance, or timing when merging or turning.
Many car accidents involving failure to yield lead to significant harm for victims. Injuries may require weeks or even months of medical treatment, keeping victims away from work and burdening families with unexpected expenses. Victims of these crashes may face:
- Emergency medical bills and hospitalization
- Rehabilitation or physical therapy costs
- Lost income while recovering
- Pain and suffering caused by the accident
When negligence contributes to a crash, injured parties may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim. A skilled personal injury attorney can review the facts of the accident, work with investigators, and ensure victims have the support they need to move forward.
In addition, many failure-to-yield crashes are linked to distracted driving accidents or reckless behavior, such as drivers failing to wear seatbelts or disregarding safety rules. Legal claims can hold negligent drivers accountable while also helping injured victims secure compensation to rebuild their lives.
