Car Accidents in Tennessee

Tennessee experiences thousands of car accidents every year, many of which result in injuries. According to state data, more than 50,000 injury-related crashes occur annually on Tennessee roads. Interstates like I-26 see a high volume of accidents due to traffic congestion, high speeds, and occasional reckless driving.
There are many risks that drivers face on highways. Here are some common hazards that contribute to accidents:
- Sudden Traffic Slowdowns – Interstate congestion can lead to sudden braking, which increases the risk of rear-end collisions, especially when drivers follow too closely.
- Drowsy Driving – Long highway drives can cause fatigue, reducing reaction times and leading to serious accidents. Drivers should take breaks and stay alert to prevent drowsy driving crashes.
- Unsafe Lane Changes – Failing to check blind spots before switching lanes can lead to dangerous sideswipe or merging collisions. Proper use of mirrors and turn signals is essential.
- Weather-Related Hazards – Rain, fog, and icy conditions can make roads slippery and reduce visibility, increasing the likelihood of losing control of a vehicle. Drivers should adjust speed and increase following distances in bad weather.
A car accident can leave victims facing medical bills, lost wages, and a long road to recovery.
