Knoxville, TN (January 19, 2026) – Emergency personnel responded on Sunday, January 18, to a fatal crash on Interstate 640 in Knoxville. 

According to dispatch reports, a gray Acura lost control while entering I-640 westbound from Old Broadway, striking the side barrier before turning around and colliding head-on with a motorcycle. Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist, an adult man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Acura, 27-year-old Eric Ramon Alcantara-Guevara, fled the scene but was later taken into custody along with a passenger. Alcantara-Guevara faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, DUI, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Emergency responders provided care at the scene and secured the area for investigation. The Knoxville Police Department has not released additional details regarding the circumstances leading to the crash or any other injuries.
