Knoxville, TN (December 15, 2025) - Knoxville police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash that took the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday, December 13. The collision occurred around 4:20 p.m. on Clinton Highway near Bradshaw Garden Road.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers responded to reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. When officers arrived, witnesses stated that the second vehicle had fled the scene. The adult male motorcyclist suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Investigators reviewed nearby video footage, which helped identify the suspect vehicle as a black Chevrolet Uplander. Officers located the vehicle approximately two hours later at an apartment complex on Mystic River Way. Police then identified the driver as 57-year-old Steven Dockery.

Knoxville police stated that Dockery showed signs of impairment at the time of his arrest. Crash reconstruction investigators determined that the Uplander traveled north on Clinton Highway and attempted to turn left onto Bradshaw Garden Road. During the turn, the vehicle entered the path of a southbound motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Uplander.

After the impact, the Uplander continued west on Bradshaw Garden Road and left the scene. Police took Dockery into custody and charged him with multiple offenses, including vehicular homicide by intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

The Knoxville Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
