What Should You Do After a Crash in Knoxville?

First, call 911. Wait for emergency responders in a safe spot. Once they get to the accident scene, explain what happened in clear and simple terms. Avoid making any statements regarding responsibility or fault.

Then, make sure you receive medical attention. Head, neck, and back pain rank high after these crashes. Broken bones, cuts, and bruises also appear, even when cars move at lower speeds. Soft tissue pain may take days to show up, which can make daily tasks harder.

Legal guidance can help you cope with the complex and overwhelming aftermath of your crash. A personal injury lawyer can explain what options may be available after a crash. Help may cover gathering records, speaking

with insurers, and explaining types of compensation that may apply, like medical bills or missed work.

Guidance from a skilled personal injury lawyer can also help protect a person from pressure to settle before injuries fully surface.

Car accidents in Knoxville remain a serious concern for drivers and pedestrians alike. In 2025, local police reports show that 29 people died in traffic crashes within city limits, a drop from 52 traffic deaths in 2024 and the lowest total since 2020.

Crash data from the region also shows tens of thousands of reported crashes over recent years, with thousands in Knox County alone. Even with fewer deaths, injury crashes still affect many families across the area.
