Knoxville, TN (October 14, 2025) – Knoxville police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a mother and her 14-year-old daughter near the University of Tennessee campus on Saturday night, October 11. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near the 630 block of Concord Street, shortly after a Tennessee football game.

According to police reports, the pair had been sitting on the curb outside a parking lot when a gray 2025 Toyota 4-Runner struck them while exiting. The impact caused serious injuries to both victims before the driver fled the scene. Witnesses chased the fleeing vehicle northbound on Concord Street and saw it turn onto Southerland Avenue. They were able to provide the Georgia license plate number to authorities.

Emergency medical teams transported the mother and daughter to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The woman later shared on social media that her knee was split open and required medical treatment, while her daughter suffered a broken shoulder blade and currently has her arm in a sling.

Police had not made any arrests. Knoxville Police continue to search for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.

Our thoughts are with the injured mother and daughter, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.
