Knoxville, TN (December 30, 2024) – Two people lost their lives in a two-vehicle crash on Clinton Highway in Knoxville during the early morning hours the day after Christmas. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) identified the victims as Carly Williams, 33, and Jeffery Wilkerson, 34, both residents of Tennessee.

The fatal crash occurred near the 7700 block of Clinton Highway just before 1 a.m. on December 26. According to THP's preliminary report, a 2020 Dodge Challenger driven by Williams was traveling southbound when it was struck head-on by a 2010 GMC Yukon.

The driver of the GMC Yukon, Brent Morgan, 45, also of Tennessee, was heading northbound when his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with the Challenger. Both Williams and Wilkerson, the sole occupants of the Challenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Morgan and his passenger sustained injuries in the crash, though authorities have not disclosed their current condition. Charges against Morgan are pending as the investigation remains ongoing, according to the report.

Our hearts go out to the families of Carly Williams and Jeffery Wilkerson during this heartbreaking time. We also hope for the recovery of those injured in the crash.
