Motorcycle Accidents in Tennessee

1 Killed, 2 Injured in Two-Motorcycle Crash on Old Walland Hwy

Motorcycle accidents are among the most dangerous types of roadway crashes in Tennessee. Riders face far greater risks than drivers of passenger vehicles because motorcycles provide no protection in a collision.

Even when wearing helmets and protective gear, motorcyclists can suffer catastrophic injuries or death when struck by another vehicle or colliding head-on.

Several factors contribute to motorcycle accidents in Tennessee, including:

  • Driver inattention – Many crashes occur when drivers fail to notice motorcycles in traffic.
  • Distracted driving accidents – Cell phone use, eating, or adjusting controls take focus away from the road.
  • Improper passing or lane changes – Motorcycles can be hidden in blind spots, making them vulnerable to collisions.
  • Excessive speed – Speeding reduces reaction time and makes injuries more severe in a crash.
  • Road hazards – Potholes, gravel, or uneven pavement pose greater risks to motorcycles than cars.

These accidents often result in broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, and in the worst cases, wrongful death. Victims and families face physical pain, financial stress, and emotional suffering long after the crash.

Working with a trained motorcycle accident attorney can make a significant difference for those impacted. A lawyer can investigate the crash, determine liability, and pursue compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and long-term care. Families who lose a loved one may also pursue a wrongful death claim to hold negligent parties accountable
