Scott County, TN – Fatal Crash on SR 63 at Jeffers Rd

Posted by Local Accidents | Nov 13, 2025 | 0 Comments

Scott County, TN (November 13, 2025) – A woman lost her life in a serious two-vehicle crash on Monday, November 10, along State Route 63 near Jeffers Road. The collision happened around 6:20 p.m., during snowy weather and low visibility.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2016 Kia Soul traveled west on State Route 63 without headlights. At the same time, a 2003 Ford F-150 attempted to turn left from Jeffers Road onto State Route 63. The truck moved into the path of the Kia, and the vehicles collided in the westbound lane. The impact pushed both vehicles to a stop in the roadway.

Troopers reported that the 67-year-old woman driving the Kia suffered fatal injuries. A passenger inside her vehicle and the driver of the Ford both sustained injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the woman who passed away.

Fatal Car Accidents in Tennessee

Fatal Crash on SR 63 at Jeffers Rd

Rural roads in Tennessee often become dangerous during winter weather. Snow, darkness, and low visibility increase the risk of serious collisions, especially on highways like State Route 63, where drivers must react quickly to turning vehicles and changing road conditions. When poor visibility meets driver error, tragic outcomes can occur.

Drivers face many challenges on unlit rural highways. Snow and darkness limit reaction times. When a vehicle travels without headlights, the risk grows even more. Headlights help other drivers judge distance, speed, and lane position. Without them, drivers may not see a vehicle approaching until it is too late to avoid a crash.

A fatal collision can leave families grieving and searching for answers. Losses often include funeral costs, medical bills, and the emotional toll of losing someone unexpectedly. Families affected by a wrongful death may choose to pursue a legal claim to help with these overwhelming burdens. T

These claims allow families to seek compensation for financial losses and hold negligent drivers accountable. Because of the severe harm caused by this type of crash, families often reach out to an attorney for guidance.

Victims and families affected by wrongful death often feel unsure where to begin. An attorney can investigate the crash, review reports, gather witness statements, and help determine the cause of the collision. An experienced wrongful death lawyer can help families understand their rights and the types of compensation available after a fatal crash.
