Posted by Local Accidents | Aug 03, 2025 | 0 Comments

Sullivan County, TN (August 3, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision unfolded late Friday afternoon in Sullivan County, resulting in one fatality and injuries to two others.

On August 1, around 4:45 p.m., a deadly motor vehicle accident occurred along Highway 75, drawing the immediate attention of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and local emergency services. The incident took place when a Porsche Taycan, traveling at a high rate of speed in the northbound left lane, lost control for unknown reasons. The vehicle crossed over the center lane and slammed into an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed that 51-year-old Hunter Morrow, a Tennessee resident and the driver of the Porsche, was killed in the crash. Authorities stated that both the passenger inside the Porsche and the driver of the semi-truck suffered injuries as a result of the violent impact. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and provided on-site medical attention before transporting the injured to local hospitals for further treatment.

Investigators noted that all parties involved in the collision were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The scene was cleared following an extended response effort, and a full investigation is now underway to determine the contributing factors behind the incident. The road was partially shut down during the cleanup, causing delays in the area.

We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased victim.

Truck Accidents in Tennessee

Sullivan Co., TN – Hunter Morrow Killed in Truck Crash on Hwy 75

When crashes involve large commercial vehicles like tractor-trailers, the consequences can be especially severe. Below are some key points to understand about these kinds of collisions here in Tennessee:

  • Common Injuries: Truck crashes often lead to serious or life-threatening injuries such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord trauma, broken bones, and internal organ damage. The sheer size and force of an 18-wheeler can amplify injury severity even at lower speeds.
  • Causes of Truck Accidents: These crashes may stem from driver fatigue, poor maintenance, speeding, distracted driving, or improper cargo loading. In many cases, driver error or failure to follow industry regulations contributes to the accident.
  • Crash Investigation Complexity: Commercial truck collisions typically involve in-depth investigations, including inspection of driver logs, black box data, and maintenance records. These details are crucial in identifying liability and are often time-sensitive.
  • Legal Differences: Truck accident cases differ significantly from standard car crashes due to the involvement of federal regulations, commercial insurance policies, and multiple potentially liable parties such as trucking companies and third-party maintenance providers.
  • Long-Term Recovery: Injured victims often face extended hospital stays, rehabilitation, and significant life adjustments. Emotional trauma and financial burdens can linger long after the physical wounds begin to heal.
